OMKP (that's Oh My Katy Perry), I think I want a rubber dress!

Wow! Katy Perry is getting all kinds of down with this rubber dress thing right now. I'm not a big fan of flag based fashion so I personally wouldn't be so much up for the America <3 the UK dress, although I suspect Wonder Woman is currently eating her heart out.

My major crush is on the pink and blue palm tree clad effort. I love a print and bold use of colour and, darn it, the girl looks GOOD in it. Jealous? Much? Plus, check the matching pink lips 'n' nails and fully clashing sunnies. It's just all too awesome for words. So I'll stop.

Because, the thing is, beyond the 'how do you pee?' and 'how do you get it on if you're remotely warm?' questions, rubber dresses do have their upsides. How figure sculpting is that stuff? It just sooks you in and hold everything in place. It's as if you have no wobbly bits. Plus, when your tipsy friend accidentally slings a glass of vino tinto your way, no problem - simply wipe clean!! Plus, it's SO a look - the chance are that no-one's gonna rock up in the same dress as you. Unless you're at Torture Garden or summat in which case it's a distinct possibility.

Note to Amber Rose - I'm advocating the use of a rubber dress. Human condom isn't where this is at. Go forth and be plastic fantastic!

Paloma Faith at Isle of Wight Festival

Woot, woo! I love this Paloma Faith look! I'm a huge fan of leopard print (which is making a comeback for A/W 10, or so I hear) anyway so I am crushing hard on this get up. If only I had the legs for it. Still, what do I really think the TOWERING red platforms were made for, if not leg lengthening. Plus, I am totally digging the turban look for my short so-needs-cut-it's-nearly-a-mullet hair. A mullet is not and never was a good look. Take it away Paloma...

mmm - pretty things

Well hello there my dears. In the absence of time to go scouting round Edinburgh to see if there are any fashionable looking folk out there (and to re-define, by fashion I mean people looking particularly fabulous, working their own groove and/or cutting a dash. Working a look with confidence. Not fashion slaves - that's just boring.), I've decided to enthrall you with some recent delicious purchases. Pretty things, not groceries or owt! And first up, I got this absolutely gorgeous leather neck lace at a local craft fair at the weekend. Now I'll be darned if I know what the girl's 'company' is called which is crappy because I'd love to be able to give her a bit of a push here. She does lots of lovely rosettes (which she crafts with frightening precision) and pretty little lace bits and bobs and the foray into leather goods is new for her (so she was telling me). I hope you'll agree this necklace is beautiful and that'll you'll join me in worshiping her awesomeness for a moment...

Second up was today's cheeky wee purchase. I wasn't planning on shopping, really I wasn't but sometimes something just grabs you, y'know. And this bag grabbed me bad. Let's be clear; I'm a shoe girl, not a bag girl, as a general rule. Bags are nice and I have plenty but shoes are my thing. But when a bag is this pretty...well you just gotta say yes. Blue felt, with red gingham, an adorable red and white polka dot bow and a gold cord cross body strap. (and weirdly orange velvet lining but it's what's on the outside that counts. Isn't it?) It's from schuh:

Note how the evening sun casts it's shadow across my living room, creating dimensions of colour. Haha - I'm messing with you! I'm a good humoured wannabe writer, not a photographer!

Fashion Edinburgh

Having had a wee scout about t'internet, it seems that there aren't any up to date Edinburgh fashion blogs. Therefore, my future mission is to bring the (eclectic) look of the people of Edinburgh to you. Perhaps we're not noted for our fash credentials in Scotlands capital but the mean streets tell me there are people here with looks that need to be seen!

Bear with me - I'm doing a marathon soon and am tight for time. Consider this as a coming very soon!
