Little Scribbler: Miu Miu, new shoe

Should I even bother writing anything in this post? I assume it's quite clear from the title what I've been up to and what I'm about to show you. The below explains why I am scraping the pennies together right now. In fact, I don't have two pennies to scrape so I'm scraping one solitary penny against the floor. Eee-aaah, aaaaiii-eeee (that's the sound of the scrapy penny).

Still, at least my feet look GOOD.

Ah, the Net-a-Porter box...
With Miu Miu inside *gasp*!
What's a shoe box without gold take-away-wallpaper style lining in it? I ask thee. Weirdly, Net-a-Porter send you a free tape measure in a little black bag...
Let's keep up the pretence! *Oh! What could be contained and enveloped within these dusky pink dust bags?*
Feel the quality. A dust bag for EACH shoe.
That's right! There are shoes in there. Uh-huh! Did you guess right? Sequined ones. With a big fat platform and a chunky heel.
I can walk in these, I can run in them, they stay on. They're just a dream!
Thank you and goodnight.

Ooh, little hearty socks!

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls (though I'd suggest this blog isn't really child friendly fodder - sarcasm and sweary words are not the recommended diet for little 'uns as I understand it), shoes # 22 from schuh by Irregular Choice. Look how nom, nom, nommy they are!

Ooh:
Sparkly!
Shiny!
Suedey!
Sequiny!
Sheer! (ok so that's the socks but who else is getting a total alliteration high here?)

And, getting back to non 's' words, they're totally shock inducing electric blue. Yes, I loves these shoes a LOT. I mean, will you LOOK at the heels!?

"Now", I hear you holler, "I thought she was yacking about socks in the title", so let's have a look at my nice little ASOS socks. I've been meaning to embrace the ankle sock for a while but was a bit tentative about trying it. While I'm fortunate not to be the possessor of cankles, I don't have, shall we say, the most fortunate legs in the office/house/blogosphere and I was a little afraid that they'd look a bit dodgy or draw the wrong sort of attention. However, as is often the case I said 'fuck it' and got some anyway. And I love this particular pair. Verging on 'barely black' pop sock territory they're saved because of the adorable little hearts on them and a slight ankle frill (which you can't see. It's there though, trust me. It's just a little shy). Anyway, here they are poking out of my lovely shoes. Aw!
So, when one's feet are so gloriously shod, what else should one wear? Judging by me, the expression of a grumpy person on the verge of falling asleep/dropping into a catatonic trance. Apologies folks, I'm a fairly cheery sort usually. And seriously, last week was a tiring one. Right now I'm sporting black bags big enough to fit both Olsen twins in so expect a few more glazed looks to come. Anyway, to the matter in hand - what I wore was:

Sequined H and M T shirt come dress
Gold lurex Toppers or Primarni cardi
black leggings
My amazing Lady Luck Rules OK Owl Necklace
For shame, there's so much crap in my hall.

Twit, twoo! Say goodnight to the shoes!

Lady Crush number 2...

Well, my 2nd blogged lady crush this week but I was having warm feelings for BNTM's angry Grace on Monday night too. Love her and her mad glasses. Should Mr Little-Scribbler start worrying????

Anyway, step up Jessica Alba who I couldn't bear for ages, then she fecked off, dropped a sprog and came back looking all lovely and with a shitting great sackload of 'mazin' outfits. I was loving all over her boink at Couture Fashion week and, would you believe it, she's only gone and grabbed me again. This dress is amazing!! I have a lovely Toppers handbag that could go incognito up against it and I have often wished I could turn said bag into a dress. Then Balmain went and did it, pumped up the shoulders and stuck Ms Alba inside it. All it needed was a discreet bangle and some Louboutins (er, what outfit doesn't?) and job's a good 'un.

Plus, all this awesomeness totally detracts from what sounds like being a terrible film...(soz)Loving your fashion work Jess.

Barrymore-more-more!

My lady crush of the week this week is...Drew Barrymore (you didn't think this post was about Michael did you?). Even when she was with Fabrizio Moretti of the Strokes (my 2nd husband), I couldn't help but love her. She's glossy but not too glossy and she ain't afraid to rock a look.

I think it all dates back to when, early-mid 90s, she was pictured with over sized daisies in her hair. I found them impossibly cute - they appealed to the part of me that always wore glitter (even to school) and thought that more was definitely more when it came to the number of necklaces you could wear at once.

These days, unless it's little gold tokens, I tend to stick to one necklace at a time and I don't wear glitter every day (honestly, though, I'm always happy to have an excuse for glitter. I think I'm a closeted disco ball or something). And Drew's looking chicer and more polished than in the 90s (Who isn't? Come on, admit it - you had either Heather Shimmer by Rimmel or Avon Iced Champink lipstick too) too. I'm loving her recent appearances in a brocade/jacquard Marchesa dress, nodding to the a/w lady trend with a cinched waist, and her demure trousers with sequined top, platform shoes and grown out roots. And it's nice to see that even the a-list wear the same pair of shoes more than once sometimes!

Now, I'm not feeling this V Festival look (the trousers aren't flattering and I'm not a fringing girl. Tried it, looked like Tonto, dismissed it.) but you gotta love that the girl ain't afraid to stand out. However, I'm giving a 'woop' for the mere appearance of Drew at said festival amongst all the usual 'opening of an envelope' d-list, fame-whore, trampy, brit school brat, don't really give a shit about music types that are at all the festivals these days. Urgh, rant over. Drew, I salute you
