Saved by the hearty socks.

Bit of a public service type announcement for you before this one kicks off - this is not a particularly exciting outfit. There are elements of the enjoyable in there but, overall, it's more of a 'I can't go out naked, pass me the clothes' sort of an ensemble. I'm really selling it aren't I? However, there are shoes involved in the look that haven't been previously documented and, on account of my 'wear all my shoes in a year' challenge, I feel it would be rude not to let these little guys get their 15 seconds of fame...

They're shoe #37 and they're schuh Cherie Ballerina. They're still online (yes, for once I'm not wearing something I got ages ago!) and, I think, a bit of a bargain at £19.99. And while they may not be the most exciting and glamorous shoes ever to have lived, they're shiny and leopardy and have a nice little bow on them. Ordinarily, I am NOT a fan of leopard satin shoes (they're for hookers, innit?) but on a flat shoe it's kinda cute. Plus they didn't take the skin off my ankles/dig into the front of my feet/hurt me in any other way - always a winner.

Anyway, here's the whole shebang:

Top and jeans (I almost never wear jeans now. I used to almost never not wear jeans): New Look
Cardi - either my Topshop or Primark one...
Belt - H&M I think. You can't really see (and I could not get a decent picture) but it's white with tiny gold palm trees on it. I enjoy a good palm tree. Ideally I'd enjoy it from underneath, with a cocktail in my hand. The cocktail will be in a coconut shell. There will be a good looking man fanning me with an enormous leaf. Possibly Fabrizio from the Strokes. Definitely Fabrizio.

Another dodgy picture alert! It's just so you can actually see the cute ruffled front. It's pretty sweet (I like dots and ruffles so combining them is good) and the little buttons are like flowers too - girlie-licious.

Whilst the shoes haven't previously featured on the blog, the socks have. They're fame whores. They're like Jordan without the orange, Peter Andre without Jordan, Kerry Katona without the drugs (or prawn ring) or anyone off the Hills without the inane 'issues'. Only far prettier. They're from ASOS.

Ooh, shiny lining! Let's hope Mr Scribbler doesn't notice that I've been shooting shoes on the bed sheets...

Jazz, er, feet???

It's shoes number 19 ladies and gentlemen! And it's a little floral schuh, well, jazz shoe type thingamajigy. They're pretty little things: cream canvas with little cream laces and pink floral print. Regardez:

See - pretty little things. And, for once, I went for not clashing the shit out of my outfit and paired them with a simple grey Urban Outfitters jersey bandeau (which, yes, I know I wear all the time but get over it. This isn't about my fabulous wardrobe.), black leggings, a white tee and a denim shirt. Sometimes simple really is better. I topped the lot off with some glorious Accessorize pearls with a big pink grosgrain ribbon tie - just to add some girlie glamour, you know?!

I'm aware that I look a bit mental in this picture but the red eye came out looking absolutely chronic and I HAD to do something about it!

And it's just pictures from here on in...

Final though: As if Caleb from Kings of Leon got engaged! Heart breaker.

Dirrrrrrty Dozen

So, my bad. I haven't updated this in, literally, days! How have you coped? Are you still there? Who knows? Who cares? I do, of course, you dozy mares!!

Shoes # 12 are from schuh and by Irregular Choice (check the no nonsense, straight back to business approach there). Nom, nom. They are from way back in around 2004 and from one of schuh's first ever Irregular Choice ranges - back when they were a little known quirky brand and not the behemoth of embellished bedazzlement they have become. In fact, give it a few years and these babies'll qualify as vintage. Yeah, you better believe it. I have solid gold brewing right here in my shoe closet.

So, the particulars: they're white leather (sometimes class, sometimes trash), flats (that pretty much boots them into class. Trash is the white stiletto worn incorrectly. Or wielded. When I lived in t'Boro some chick actually killed someone with a stiletto. Sho nuff. That shit was ghetto) with the old skool, occasionally reintroduced, Irregular Choice bum-toe. I think they call it a heart toe but I heard it called a bum toe in the early days and it's stuck. As well as the lovely bum toe, the shoes have a purdy studded flower on the vamp (tecchie terms beatches) which I do enjoy. Observe, if you will:

The shoes are worn with my little cream floral Primark dress. You'll see that on here heaps because it's cute and it's awesome for bloated days - everything just hides neatly away underneath it. I also have on my grey H&M cardi and a black and gold zebra scarf (it was a wee bit chilly and I was still chasing off the last of that cold. It was a gift so I'm not sure where it's from. It could be tacky but it's so right and you know my feelings on anything from the shiny family. Foxy printed leggings are by Uniqlo and it's all topped off with a little leopard bow in the hair. Lord, I love the mixed and mashed prints - lace, floral, leopard and zebra - you know it works!

Good girls give head...

Oh, will you drag your filthy mind out of the gutter? Urgh! This is NOT that kind of blog! My head's in the photo this time is all. I may be a little shy (no, really) but the headless thing just looked weird. So, ping, there it is - I do have a head.

And it's pair of shoes (from schuh) number 8 in the international shoe wearing challenge (dude, I wore flips flops in Turkey last week - this is totally international. And Turkey's also the reason for the lack of blog activity of late)! Worn today to the Edinburgh International Marketing Festival - ooh, lala! Tres interesting and informative day PLUS, they ply you with wine at lunch and cider after. Er, how is that conducive to learning? I'm not sure, but I like it. Might suggest free wine in the canteen at lunch time when I'm back in the office.

Anyhoo, the invite ma-jobby said 'casual dress' (ignored by all the suited and booted folk there - seriously people, relish the chance to bust out of your suited confines! And, no, Jon Snow style socks don't count. Only Jon Snow can pull that shit off) so I went with short grey jersey dress nipped in with navy and gold belt, cute little cardi, white tee, black leggings and some retro, circa-the-early-noughties schuh white pointy flower flats. So a/w ladylike, dontcha think?

Anyway, like big Madge says, 'strike a pose'. Look out BNTM...

She's in fashion. Ooh, ooh, ooo-ooooh!

Now that there is a reference to popular 90s indie band Suede (Google 'em kids). I quite like them retrospectively but at the time, blinded as I was by loyalty to Damon Albarn who had a long running hate thing with them (him and Suede's Brett Anderson had both shagged Justine from Elastica who, let's be honest, looked a bit like a boy. Albeit a kinda hot Damon bagging boy), I simply couldn't consider enjoying Suede.

Anyway, The title refers not to my own sense of style or choice of clothes but the fact that I do indeed work in fashion. Therefore, I am in fashion. Ooh, ooh, oooo-ooh! And today saw our new season range review for a/w '10. Always a good chance to catch up with pals from across the country, have a free feed and make a shopping list the length of 5th Avenue. Plus, I always enjoying having a neb (Scottish word - it means being nosey, kind of) at what people are wearing. Being in fashion, you'd think it's be a joy to the eyes and often it is but you do get some slightly, er, how shall I put it...off the boil, looks too. Anyway, if I'm out there judging all and sundry, it's only fair you get to judge me too.

I'm sticking with the headless look for now and, bear in mind, this is about the pretty clothes, not my sexy figure or fabulous photography skills. I decided that, as we were at the a/w preview, I should channel and a/w look and I picked the 50s silhouette, as championed by Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton and Prada. Mad men had a lot to answer for. Here it is...

The dress is one I got AGES ago at Oasis and is part of their 'floral frocks' collection and is actually a reworking of a vintage 60s (I know - talk about fucking with my eras!) design featured in the Bath museum). It has a lovely v back, the skirt is beautifully full and it literally floats as you come down stairs. I swear, coming back from the loo I was in soft focus as I descended the stairs. Wonderful.

My cardi's a Primarni bargain, the tights are actually purple and from ASOS, the necklace is from Accessorize. I went for the 'cupcake' necklace as I love little gold necklaces AND I figured that, channelling the 50s housewife vibe, I was probably gonna head home and bake some cupcakes. I actually went to the pub but that's by the by...Anyway, the brooch is from a Coast dress I sold ages ago and the shoes are from schuh. I decided flats were called for as the day was standing room only and I adore the cameo detail on these pumps. Plus I'm a sucker for a clashed floral. The bag (below) is Accessorize and I love it so much (see leopard print obsession) that I'll have it til it's actual vintage and/or breaks. Anyway, here's the pictorial evidence. Enjoy and good night.
